There are several great swimming pools in the valley open during the summer months. Guadalest pool is open the longest from June to the end of September. Other are open July and August. Prices are no more than 3 Euros for a day pass. The pools never seem to get busy and the settings are truly amazing. All pools have a small cafe for refreshments/ice-creams, etc.

On the edge of Abdet village is a delightful pond full of fresh spring water.  Although not suitable for young children it is a superb place to swim!

The Guadalest swimming pool allows you to take in a picnic and provides plenty of seating in a spectacular setting. It also has night swimming on Tuesdays and Fridays, this is something that should not be missed!

You can also swim in the lake at Guadalest, although this is certainly only advisable for good swimmers.

The pools are located at:

Confrides - just past the village going towards Alcoy (5 minutes drive from Abdet). Open 11am - 2pm and 4pm - 7pm. July and August

Guadalest - walk from the village centre or take the road to Callossa from from the village and drive for approximately 2kms until the signs for Embalse de Guadalest and Piscina Municipal. Take the left fork on this road after about another km and drive up the hairpins to the pool. Open 11 am to 8pm (and until midnight Thursday and Friday)

Beniarda - Either take the scenic minor road from the bottom of Abdet village, turning right to the pool just before you reach the lake. OR drive down through the village of Beniarda (signposted just before you reach Guadalest), keep going through the narrow streets and drop down to the pool which is at the bottom end of the village. This is the cheapest of the pools and still very pleasant - open until 8pm

You can also wander down the lane 10 minutes from the house to the local Barranco (river/stream) and have a refreshing dip in crystal clear mountain water. Most of the time you will have it to yourself!

It is only 30 to 60 minutes drive to the beaches at Benidorm, Finestrat, Altea (pebbles), or Calpe.
