Directions fom Madrid Airport to Abdet

Please take care at the airport as there have been reports of thefts.

When you leave the airport, firstly follow the signs for Madrid and then follow signs for M40 sur. The M40 goes north and south - don't get on the Northbound route.

Once you're on the M40 heading south, look for signs for A3 Valencia. You will have to change roads so keep your eyes peeled for A3 Valencia/Alicante signs.

There is also a new option to take the Toll R3 - take this if it appears busy. It's only a few Euros.

Keep on the Albacete (Alicante) road until you are relatively close to Abdet. Just before you reach the town called Sax (the road signs will tell you when you are getting close ie a few kms away), turn off onto a new unfinished motorway signposted 'Onil Castalla'. (You do this via a small roundabout which then allows you to cross back over the Albacete/Alicante motorway).

Note that this section may be completed very soon so the motorways may connect!

Follow this until you see a sign for A36 signposted Alicante/Alcoi which is the finished part of the motorway and turn onto the A36 road and look out for signs for Alcoi and Ibi on this road. Just before you drop down into Alcoi there is a right hand turn for Benilloba on the A160 road which is also marked Callosa Peniseria. Follow this slow and windy road (with spectacular views on the left down to the large town of Alcoi) through the various villages until you come to Confrides. A few KM beyond Confrides, there is a left hand turn signposted Abdet 1.2km . Follow this road into Abdet. Our house is one of the first ones you come to. It's on the very narrowest part of the street on the left hand side, about 10m past the parked cars on the left. It's number 19 (numbers above the doors)
